Developmental Delay, Abnormal Crawl Patterns, and Inward Turning Knees and Feet (pigeon toes)
Developmental delay
Developmental delay (delays in rolling over, sitting up, crawling, walking, speech,
learning ability) is linked to compressed cranial bone motion and spinal motion.
The proper functioning of the brain and brain stem (where the centers for gross
motion are found) relies on free motion of cerebral spinal fluid (surrounding the brain
and cord) and the draining of blood flow from the brain. This motion allows for normal
growth and nutrition of the brain cells to occur.
I have treated many, many children with developmental delay and osteopathy always
allows the recovery to occur.
Abnormal crawl patterns and inward turning Knees and Feet (pigeon toes)
Abnormal crawl patterns and inward turning knees and feet can also be alleviated with osteopathic treatment.
These issues are generally due to torque patterns in the pelvic bones and compression of the
sacral segments and lumbar vertebrae. Sometimes the knee and foot bones themselves
need to be addressed.
I have seen inward turning knees and feet alleviated in a child as old as nine
years.
